Northam Motor Sport Festival celebrates 21st anniversary

The Northam Motor Sport Festival celebrates its 21st anniversary this weekend with an action packed weekend featuring the Bendigo Bank Flying 50, Lindsay Monk Hill Climb, food trucks, monster truck rides, street markets, car displays and more!

The event started originally as the Round the Houses back in 1952, but has now run in its present form since 1999.

Car displays include various car clubs, vintage cars, V8 Tractors, Speedway Cars, Monster Trucks.

Outside of the festival, there is plenty to do around Northam including checking out the recently completed restoration of the PMR 721 locomotive located at the Old Northam Railway Station. The Northam Aquatic Facility will also be open over the weekend with a skateboard area and flying fox for something a bit different.

The Flying 50 is a throw back to an era of motorsport where main streets in small towns were closed off for motorsport before permanent race facilities were built.
