A statewide Motorsport Economic Impact Survey is now open, and it’s important we capture a true picture of what our industry represents.
Motorsport is not just about annual spend, it is built on significant long-term investment.
Race vehicles, engines, trailers, tools, and safety equipment represent a substantial portion of the industry’s economic footprint. These are high-value assets, often purchased over many years, and may not be reflected in a typical 12-month snapshot.
Before completing the survey, please consider the following:
- If your spending has been lower this year, indicate this and use the comments section to explain why (e.g. venue closures)
• Include major purchases (vehicles, engines, safety gear), even if they are not made every year
• If you travelled interstate to compete, include those costs as part of your motorsport spend
• Think beyond race day – include preparation, maintenance, storage, and transport costs
• If you are part of a team or family involvement, consider the broader household contribution
And importantly, use the written response sections to explain anything that has impacted your involvement.
Survey closes 25th May 2026
