Toyota v Torana, two serious competitors both packing some impressive firepower. Always great to watch these two cars whether it be side by side or having a crack at the big blown cars in the field, they always put on a show and turn it up to 11.

Both with extremely dedicated racing families behind them which run multiple cars across multiple different classes, these guys don’t miss many (if any) opportunity to bring their cars down and they don’t hold back when out on track either.

We couldn’t resist a hot joke considering that in Western Australia it will be above 37 for most of this week leading into the weekend too, but the Perth Motorplex race surfaces will really heat up this weekend as Fast Series Round 4 and the Alf Barbagallo tribute night are set to sizzle

Strap yourselves in drag racing fans, the Perth Motorplex has a huge couple of months ahead at all levels of drag racing from Whoop Ass Wednesdays through to the WesterNationals 2022!

The drag strip is officially open at Motorvation 36 with the first runs on the 1/8th mile setup underway. So far we’ve seen everything from a bread truck through to an Audi on track getting some time slips.

Marty Dack becomes the third different Summer Slam round winner in as many events last weekend, taking out the A final against defending series champion John Zappia at Nitro SLAM.

“It’s not how we want to do it, but we will take the win when we can!…we’ve got some new components on the way, and we will come back in a couple of months to do it again”

Following the recent announcement regarding hard border closures made by the WA Government, the Australian National Drag Racing Association and the Perth Motorplex regret to confirm that Top Fuel Australia will be unable to attend the 2022 Westernationals event.
