The weather as I’m sure you’ve noticed was not in our favour for this one, with a call being made the day prior that the track was going to run the event rain hail or shine anyway as they wouldn’t be able to fit it back into the calendar if they postponed it..

So we all knew what we were walking into and rain it did.. not heavy, but that annoying constant amount throughout the day that ends up making everything soaking wet, but for the most part the track surface held out and we only stopped the racing twice for 30 or so minutes each to dry it out – all in all a pretty good day of racing considering, the dampness and super cold ambient air sure made for some very skatey passes.

Some pretty big moments in this class, with some bigtime wheel stand action using all of those wheelie bars! Always action packed and a very high level of competitiveness with neither lane wanting to do things by halves.

One of the cars that caught our eye was this very tidy VF HSV Maloo sporting a pretty impressive Active Automotive Livery, and with a soft spot for HSV’s we weren’t going to miss the chance to grab a few clips of this one!

A couple of new additions to the field this season, one being a pretty impressive SVT Supercharged F150 from Xtreme Ford Tuning and another being a pretty radical looking Door Car with a slightly smaller engine combo than we would normally see – but nevertheless a very cool car to see in the mix!

With the VL and Torana making their debut in the radial class for this season it was awesome to see some fresh cars in the mix! With the Torana really hooking up later in the night, hopefully not too much damage as a result!

One of the local Jet Engine Powered Dragsters got the crowd going at the recent event showcasing all facets of the sport and venue!

A favourite with both big and little kids, hearing the jet turbine engines wind up and feeling the aftershocks as they put on a show and then lay down some blistering side by side times while burning the afterburners and trailing massive flames the whole way down the track !

Check this little hottie out! A car you may have seen in a few videos last season, Nick was back again to get back into the swing of things ahead of the season ahead – unfortunately the car had other ideas but with few ignition timing tweaks should be good to go in time for the championship season!

The car has a rich history and we are keen to catch up with Nick in the near future (he is as keen to share the story as we are to hear it and share it with you guys!)

The Fiat runs a 383 Chev with hat injection, Eagle Crank, Eagle Rods, Forged Pistons, Roller Cam and Alloy Heads.

Getting the car down the track smoothly is a trust Powerglide 6000 with an Allfast Converter, sitting behind that is a 9″ Alloy Centre with 40 Spline Axles and Full Floaters,

The Fiat is a 125″ Chrome Moly Chassis with Fibreglass body, tucked under the rear ar 15×15 Alumastars wrapped in 33x15x15 Goodyears, up front on the 15×3 Centrelines are a set of M + T Front Runners.

The Topolino’s PB to date is an 8.50 @ 153mph!!
