Another new WA Burnout Car about to hit the scene is Grant Barnes Overlander HZ Ute. Built in house at Pro West High Performance in Maddington the team were tasked with the Engine Build, Fuel System, Wiring (including a full Motec digital dash), Full Exhaust and a heap of Fabrication work.

The car started life as an off-road racer many years ago on a HQ Chassis and naturally aspirated engine.

Now running a Supercharged 406 Cube Dry Sump Small Block Chev with 18 degree heads, Powerglide and Nine inch this weapon has been built with the sole purpose of destroying tyres. And with 20 pounds of boost and mechanical injection the car has today run an impressive 1,033rwhp at only 6,500rpm on the Tunecorp Hub Dyno with a relatively soft tune.

Once Grant gets a handle on the car the team will no doubt start playing with the tune and expect to see more power from the combo.

Thanks to Pro West and Tune Corp for inviting me along to cover the dyno action.
