Time to step it up….

After returning from Summernats where the heat on the track was nearing 70 degrees my main camera decided it had had enough. After returning to Perth I tried to use the Camera at Motorvation but it was evident the camera was broken.

I obtained a quote to fix the camera but it was going to cost too much to repair.

After considering my options, I put a post on Facebook seeking sponsorship from any interested business and the support was amazing. I managed to raise enough money to purchase a Brand New 4K Video Camera with a few extras for the upcoming Burnout Season.

With what’s happening in the world at the moment I’m not sure when the first competition will be but I’ll be there.

I was invited along to Wanneroo Raceway to check out Darren’s awesome Supercharged VL Calais as they test the car out after completing the build.

Darren bought the tubbed VL with an N/A LS1 which was removed from the car and replaced with a Mild Supercharged LS1 with minimal boost.

Darren started out with a few laps of the track before noticing the Fans weren’t working. With the track hired for only 2 hours the crew spent a considerable amount of time trying to locate the electrical issue, which was temporarily fixed for one Burnout but a flat battery also prevented any further testing for the day.

Once the electrics are sorted and a diff gear change to 3.0 (currently 3.70) we’ll see the VL out at Burnout King or UBC.

WA Radial Cars at Round 7 of the WA Drag Racing Championship Series – The 2 Day 49th Annual Westernationals.

Due to significant weather events during the entire lead up week (other videos to come), direct lightning strikes at the track and further mechanical issues with the Torana made for an eventful weekend.

The Torana will be back hopefully for Round 8 (and part three of the feature)
