One of the only cars to actually master the track this day, Connor (who we didn’t even realise was driving until afterwards, and thought it was actually his Dad – Anthony, and only due to how hard he sent the car on the very first pass) was not here to look at the scenery or ease into anything…. Wasting no time rocketing his HZ Tonner down the track and making it look like zero effort was required when just about every other car could barely make it past the 60ft without blazing the rears!

Seriously impressive to watch, the last time we saw the car it was running a fairly different combo again… So to see the car back and be right at the pointy end of things was mind blowing! And no idea what Connor had for breakfast that morning but he definitely needs to make that a part of his race day routine as he was absolutely on a mission every single pass the car made!

Have no doubt there is plenty still left in the car and can’t wait to see what it brings to the table next time we see it!

Ever since the 2020 Christmas Party set back for the HZ (video also on our channel of that one!) , the ute just keeps getting better and better….

Another car you’ve probably seen before on here, getting more testing in for this spectacular looking Valiant. Not quite the challenge the Drag Challenge runner up was going for with the track fighting the car for most of the day (and not from lack of trying either!), but we did manage to get a couple of half decent runs in which was good to see.

The car has since gone on to really get into a groove, and with a fresh set of rears is really starting to get back to where it should be – you can find those passes in the recent Super Street upload!

One thing these land missiles don’t seem to need is traction for launching, which is an excellent thing when you’re trying to get them down a track that has seen unfavourable race weather for most of the day!

Wet track? No problem, we have Iron Horse and Banshee to bring the heat and dry it out! If only it were that easy right!? Either way it’s always fun to watch these at the track and after the sounds and sights of the afterburns and aftershocks, watching them back the show with some go is even cooler!

If you’ve watched the other videos from Round One, you already know the weather was not what we would call ideal racing conditions – although the track did hold up pretty well considering… With racing only stopping twice in the whole day for 30 or so minutes each to dry it out.

More power definitely meant leaning on good old fashioned knowledge and expertise in getting the tune ups just right to get as much power down as possible without crossing that very fine line. When it comes to these beasts it takes some serious knowhow from a very skilled few tuners to set these cars up to get from A to B. They had their work cutout for them and had to keep adapting as the conditions changed throughout the day, but we did see a few pretty reasonable near full track passes which were impressive considering what they were working with. And even on massive tyres it’s still no easy feat!

The weather as I’m sure you’ve noticed was not in our favour for this one, with a call being made the day prior that the track was going to run the event rain hail or shine anyway as they wouldn’t be able to fit it back into the calendar if they postponed it..

So we all knew what we were walking into and rain it did.. not heavy, but that annoying constant amount throughout the day that ends up making everything soaking wet, but for the most part the track surface held out and we only stopped the racing twice for 30 or so minutes each to dry it out – all in all a pretty good day of racing considering, the dampness and super cold ambient air sure made for some very skatey passes.

Some pretty big moments in this class, with some of these long wheeled monsters using up all of the track to get the cars down, and some seriously quick passes from a couple of the heavy hitters!

The weather as I’m sure you’ve noticed was not in our favour for this one, with a call being made the day prior that the track was going to run the event rain hail or shine anyway as they wouldn’t be able to fit it back into the calendar if they postponed it..

So we all knew what we were walking into and rain it did.. not heavy, but that annoying constant amount throughout the day that ends up making everything soaking wet, but for the most part the track surface held out and we only stopped the racing twice for 30 or so minutes each to dry it out – all in all a pretty good day of racing considering, the dampness and super cold ambient air sure made for some very skatey passes.

Another lot of racing with some pretty spectacular moments in the challenging conditions, with a whole bunch of wheel work going on from the drivers trying to keep these crazy powered cars on the straight and narrow!

It definitely wasn’t the weather for ideal racing but we still had a huge field of big tyre cars wanting to give it a go – which was pretty awesome to see!

Make sure you check out the Blown Car videos on the channel from the other rounds last season and buckle up for what’s in store for this coming season, can never get enough blown action and they’re all as crazy as the next to watch!

Bailey again not holding back, had a pretty big job ahead of him getting the Torry down the track this round… with challenging and cold track conditions and a handful of power (and only his second outing in the car) he carried out a pretty spectacular drive job to keep the car safe from any major harm, and managed to drive away with only a small amount of wall rash on the bullhorn!

He did leave his mark on the concrete track wall livery though 🙂

Pretty awesome to see such professional car control from such a young driver, he really is impressive to watch – as is older brother Connor who ran the car last season!

One of the cars that caught our eye was this very tidy VF HSV Maloo sporting a pretty impressive Active Automotive Livery, and with a soft spot for HSV’s we weren’t going to miss the chance to grab a few clips of this one!
