In the battles for the Competition and Supercharged Outlaws championship titles, Craig Geddes and Tim Stewart are hoping to secure their eighth and first national titles respectively at the event, which will also host round three of the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship.
PremiAir Racing will be hunting success on both the East and the West Coasts this weekend, with the team’s Supercars outfit heading to the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400 while the Top Fuel dragster competes in the third round of the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship in Perth
Amidst a long list of exciting championship battles set to go down at the EGT ANDRA Grand Finals at the Perth Motorplex (April 8-9), the Australian Drag Racing Championship (ADRC) Top Doorslammer finale is one of the most hotly anticipated.
Fast paced action picked up right where it left off on the Saturday, with one car down due to a massive wheel explosion in Begley’s Dark Knight it left us with remaining four cars to battle it out for the win.
Kyle Putland in “Under Pressure”, Michael Brooks in the Front Engine Dragster “Nitro Mayhem”, Matt Abel in “Nitro Thunder” and Andrew Katavatis the “Beach Bomb”.
Brooksy had an absolutely cracker lap resetting his own PB and also the record for a FED (we believe Nationally).
A few more timing blocks sacrificed to the Nitro gods and a pretty close call with the wall in the Beach Bomb almost a splitting image of the previous day with Nitro Thunder!

The action continued into Day Two where things really started to get down to business as each team battled their way to win that podium position and the championship points to go with it.

Next weekend’s EGT ANDRA Grand Finals at the Perth Motorplex will bring to a close the 2021/2022 Australian Drag Racing Championship (ADRC) and Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series (SRESS) over two big days (April 8-9)
We managed to squeeze a few classes into this video – including Top Sportsman, Competition, Super Stock to Super Sedan.
Everything from Rotaries, Nitrous, Turbochargers to Prochargers and a whole lot of tough NA high revving the cars in these few classes are always pretty awesome to watch.

These scaled down versions of the big show cars are no joke, with many of the up and coming racers tailoring their skills in these little rockets before moving up the ranks to compete with the seasoned pro’s you see in our other videos!
The Junior Dragster bracket is just as (if not more) competitive than any of the other classes, with many a game face when they roll out from under the bridge.
Enjoy these methanol burning small capacity dragsters as they go head to head and battle it out for the championship points!

Round Three of the Nitro Max series was quickly upon us, with a few casualties from the previous round (and subequent test days in the lead up to this event) we had a bit of a lighter field than last round but also saw the usual suspects back for more nitro fuelled racing.
This round brought along Kyle Putland in “Under Pressure”, Anthony Begley back into the “Dark Knight” , Michael Brooks in the Front Engine Dragster “Nitro Mayhem”, Matt Abel in “Nitro Thunder” and Andrew Katavatis the “Beach Bomb”!
Day One gave us 2 rounds of racing with Day Two holding a further 3, the two rounds proved to be enough to again put the cars to the test with Beg’s having an almightly rear tyre blowout in the funnycar at 3/4 track, Broosky after major blower issues last round was fighting with keeping blower belts on the blower… and Matt Abel taking a close up look at the left hand wall for good measure! Never short of action with these cars!!

More action than you can poke a stick at (as usual with these guys and girls!)… This is all front row edge of your seat the action from Day One of the Westerns!
With another awesome turnout of big tyred blown cars and a handful of dragsters thrown in for good measure, we were treated to another action packed session of racing… This time with no major incidents that prevented anyone from making Day Two (as far as we know!), although no contact with the wall there were a few close calls as the cars moved around on the entire width of the track surface as they do – with a few timing boxes sacrificed in the process….
