At a steady pace behind the Safety Car, the second BEERS 24 hour event started at Carco.com.au Raceway, at 3pm June 13 2025. Initially racing on a slightly damp track, with more cloud-laden moisture threatening to really make things tricky later on, (it didn’t), 39 teams started with more than 30 finishing the event, 24 hours later. Diff replacements, brake-system changes, engine swaps, 4 turbos installed (and all failed) amongst some of the challenges – all teams worked hard to overcome their plights to make it to the end. Scenes from the 2025 Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 in Neerabup, in June 2025, taken by myself.
Across to my right is an apricot-hued band of light, sandwiched by the dark clouds above and the darker hills below; the sun is not yet risen and I am driving to my first time photographing at a Supercars event. With 4 instructors covering different types of competition (high turbo power, rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, multi-vehicle knowledge with instructor Geoff “Ducky” Duckworth, and an…
Important note – this Panasonic G9M2 camera and Panasonic-Leica 100-400mm II lenses are both pre-production and they may well be changed, modified and updated for the actual release models. TL/DR: The G9M2 appears to address many of the issues that I have had with earlier Panasonic Lumix mirrorless bodies (G3, G85s and GX9) while still keeping the wonderful compactness and menu/screen structure that I know and love – the phase-detect and tracking is fantastic and I didn’t want to give any of the gear back. Intro and thanks. I would like to thank Camera Electronic and Isabelle for letting…

The snaps, pops and crackles of exhausts notes penetrate the not-so-soundproofed walls of the Perth Northbridge TAFE radio-studio on a Friday night. A student perks up his ears and rushes out in curiosity; what is making that sound?
