Narre Warren youngster Hunter Carey is excited to get back on track for Speedway season with the St Joseph Boys School student and his father recently completing a build of a new FGX Ford Falcon race car for Hunter to compete with this season at speedways around Victoria.

This Saturday night, the Bairnsdale Speedway Association are scheduled to get their season underway with the first show of a terrific season ahead. Motorsport fans and families looking for a great night of entertainment need look no further this weekend to spend their hard-earned dollars.

Ricky Mills from Traralgon has won his first ever Wingless Sprint feature event on Saturday afternoon when he took down the Gippsland Wingless Sprint Series Round 1 at Drouin Speedway. Mills was not the only big winner as the ‘Bunyip Bandit’ Jeff Blencowe once again won the ‘Sally Memorial’ for Standard Saloon’s in honour of Sally Walkinshaw.

Drouin Speedway Club starts its season this Sunday with its traditional Crash and Bash opening event with great support from all the local club classes plus the visiting Vintage Hot Rod Club, the Aces of Spades.
