Mick Hamon was on a mission at the High Grade Mechanical West Coast Nats after fixing a steering issue. With a whole lot of revs from the Blown Injected Small Block XY Falcon “WIDE OPEN”, things were looking good and he drove off the pad to take 4th place in the Blown Class. Only to realise the engine has suffered some damage.

Catching up on content, but this one which we’ve been sitting on for a while was worth tidying up and getting up on the channel!
You might have seen the Commodore on the Channel before, we were privelaged enough to be invited back by Garry Hills Racing to cover the Supercars Weekend here in Perth back in 2022.
As it was an official Supercars event there were some limitations on what we could/couldn’t do (which we found out the hard way a few times and had a tap on the shoulder by a few well dressed officials) but we still managed to get some decent coverage through spending a couple of days with the GHR Race Team following what went on during and between the races for the weekend!
The car is an EX V8 Supercar (VE Commodore) and is owned and driven by Garry Hills who travels all over the country competing. This car makes ALL the right noises and is the real deal! Having grown up watching V8 supercars from very early on, to get up close and personal again with one of these weapons is definitely an item ticked off the wish list.
Mike (WA Racing Developments) who has worked on top tier V8 Supercar teams in his earlier years and is a part of the GHR Team was on hand to check over the data and was also on the intercom throughout the whole race.
