When you’re pushing 30+ pounds of Boost and sitting above 9,000rpm things are eventually going to break. Speaking with Matt after the event he shed some light on the circumstances behind the Small Block Chev calling it quits.

At a recent event here in WA Matt shut the car down mid-burnout due to an Oil Line Failure. A check of the remote filter after the show highlighted nothing to be concerned about and the car was prepped for Motorvation.

With the car performing perfectly on Saturday Night (in my opinion one of the Skids of the Night) the car was on a mission for Sunday’s final.

Unfortunately something has let go in spectacular fashion with a Huge Explosion and engine bits left to pick up more than likely as a result of the oil line issue before hand.

Rest assured Matt will be back very soon.

After melting the Internet last week when photos were released, to wowing the crowds at Motorvation 35, it’s safe to say Colin Byrne’s insane 200 Series Landcruiser is a Head Turner.

And there is no better example of this than winning People’s Choice at a show with over 500 cars. Not only did he win this coveted award but also took home Top Engineered and Top Competition and a Top 5 place in the Grand Champion Award.

More importantly, Colin also managed some limited seat time with a drive in the Go to Whoa, Slalom and even a Burnout leaving the Grand Champion presentation.

If you weren’t one of the lucky entrants to be here early, then you’re probably sitting in a line snaking all the way back to Anketell Road right now. But fear not, there’s plenty of time to get in and get your car scrutineered

Colin Byrne has built what can only be described as The World’s Most Insane 200 Series Toyota Landcruiser.

Colin mentioned the build a few years ago and has done an exceptional job on the build but more so keeping it quiet.

When photo’s were released this week it’s safe to say they went VIRAL… With numerous Facbeook and Instagram pages sharing the pictures.

I’m confident we’ve never seen a more insane 200 Series Landcruiser anywhere on the planet and it’s easy to see why.

The Landcruiser started life as a 2009 Sahara which was extensively damaged. The car received a Full Chassis, with Airbags on all 4 corners to fit those massive 24 inch wheels. The interior is almost as it was released from the Factory apart from the Racepak hidden behind the factory display.

Upfront is where the action is, running a Supercharged 540 Cube Big Block Chev, 8/71 Supercharger, Enderle Hat with Mechanical Injection and tuned by ADR Engines with a 2 Speed Glide and a 40 Spline 9 Inch Diff by Final Drive.

The majority of the Chassis and Exhaust work was completed by Race On Customs and Lethal Industries here in WA.

With the plates titled “KINGCRUZA” it’s easy to see why.

According to Colin the car won’t be doing a burnout at Motorvation as they sort through a few teething issues with the car but we hope to bring you some Test & Tune Burnouts some time very soon.

With the gates to the Perth Motorplex ready to be opened for entrants and crew only on Friday, the organisors have confirmed over 500 entrants will be in attendance for what is the biggest Motorvation in a while. At 12pm the scruitineering and judging begins with pit cruising available to
