Drouin Speedway season starts this Saturday 8th November with a classic!

Published: Wednesday November 5 2025

Drouin Speedway is back, and this Saturday from 1pm fans will be thrilled by the headlining Wingless Sprints competing in the Eastern Wingless Sprint series Drouin Wingless Classic with a cool $2000- up for grabs for first passed the line. Fans will also see all their favourite local Gippsland and Southeastern Suburbs based sedan heroes in Standard Saloons for the open, ladies and junior classes plus Sports Sedans in their Gippsland Cup annual feature.

Wingless Sprint competitors includes the likes of Wayne Logue from Morwell, Thomas McDonald from Koo Wee Rup, Ricky Mills from Traralgon, Nathan Orton from Nar Nar Goon, Jake Warren, Angus Hollis, Ben Hodge from Lang Lang, Victorian champion Brad Warren from Longwarry, and Dillon Siely and Marcus Fraser from Bairnsdale amongst the entrants. Jade Moule will also hit the dirt; she was born and raised in the area and will make the trip from Heathcote to keep the boys on their toes.

Brad Warren will be a busy lad on race day having nominated in three race cars out of the five classes. Sports Sedans is one of his favourites to compete in and he will do battle with Brendan Miller competing in Jack Brennan’s race car. Miller is consistently amongst the best in Victoria in the class at major events. Shannon Burke will attend in an immaculately built and presented XF Falcon, whilst Brendan Sheedy has invested in a Sports Sedan also and like Warren will represent the Drouin club, whilst Chris Aarts, Scott Angus and Cameron Dike strong racers from the Nyora club, will be right in amongst the action. Drivers will be keen to pick up the cash available for winning the Gippsland Cup.

Open Standard Saloon competition will feature a number of Drouin members in the line-up including Mark Miles, Dyclan Sweet, Ella Sheedy, Jack Yeomans, Matt Leek, Anthony Murray, Ben Poliansky and Brad Warren amongst them. Yeomans has a feature winner already this season at Bairnsdale and is the one to watch in a terrific field.

Ella Sheedy proved herself as the number one Ladies competitor at Drouin and is more than capable of competing in the Open line up should she choose. Sheedy and Tasharni Murray will be up against Vicky Price, Dette Miles, Michelle George and Maddi Miles in the Ladies Standard Saloons with Cooper Iron’s keen in the Junior Standard Saloons to get the ‘W’ over Nathan Miles, Hunter Carey, William Hickey, Jayden Curtis and Nickolas Pritchett. Miles is very difficult to defeat at the moment, and with his friend and teammate Hunter Carey also on track Cooper will have to be at his very best to reach the first step of the podium on Saturday.

The Drouin Speedway Club committee would also like to offer a special thanks to the following for their contribution to the upgrading in prize pool for the Wingless Sprints. Quicktime Automotive, Nar Nar Goon Hotel, B&B Retaining Walls & Supplies, Local Print Shop, Victory Lane Racegear, Kool Freighters, SPAARKE and LWR Motorsport.
