This Saturday night racing returns to Alexandra Speedway with the Modified Sedan state series round the main event attracting over twenty-five entries to this point and including Alexandra members Brody Chrystie, Matt Nelson, Kasey Garlick and Damien Miller amongst them the host club member drivers are keen for a front of the pack showing on the track they grew up racing on with all three drivers’ members for over fifteen years.
Some of the state’s best competitors that will be in the thick of the action include the Australian Champion Brock Atkins, Wade McCarthy from Mildura, Brad Wicks from Bendigo, Daniel Simpson a former Victorian champion from Horsham, and Jarod Waters also from Mildura.
Also on the schedule is will be all the best local and visiting Sports Sedans with Josh Service hot of victory this past Saturday night in Wangaratta going up against twenty competitors keen to get one over him including the Brendan Miller, former Victorian champion Lee Beach whilst the current state champion Damien Miller is entering his car also.
Jack Kershaw and Will Fallon are back in competition representing the host club in Junior 1200 Sedans as is Braiden Webster and Dayne Murdoch. They will face tough competition particularly from Bryce Leek.
Victorian Speedway Council Junior Open Sedans and Junior 1200 Sedans plus the Speedway Sedans Australia Junior Top Stars and New Stars will all compete.
In the nationally governed Speedway Sedans Australia Juniors, the Top Stars entries will see recent Nyora winner River Paterson try to defeat his brother Linken at their home track, whilst the Simpson sister Bree and Tamika hope to be amongst those that throw a spanner in the works. The boys in the line-up including Tristan Jarred will be up against it with Matilda Farrell, Jasmin Bryant, Kiarna Barton and Maddy Capon all hoping to knock them down the podium order.
In the New Star Juniors, Cruz Farrell the last winner at Nyora and Tyson Heaphy the runner up there will contend with Steane Goverdik-Cosson a rookie driver, Zack Erickson and Max Leerson coming into town from the Southwest of Victoria.
This Saturday, racing begins from 4pm on Gordon Street Alexandra with a planned 10:30pm finish. Enquires can communicate via text to 0438 700 124 prior to race day up until 9.30pm, whilst the number is available for calls on race day.
Entrance will cost $75 for a family of two adults and three kids aged 10 to 16. An adult ticket is $30, Aged, and Invalid and children aged 10 to 16 is $15 with all children under the age of ten, free.
