Nishi-D is one of those events that sort of flies under the radar. People who know about it know about it, friends and family come along to support the drivers and the atmosphere is one of pure fun.

Although the event features a competition, take a walk through the pits area and you wouldn’t think there was a competition on. Drivers hanging out next to each other’s cars, talking with each other, racing RC drift cars, and generally just having a good time.

The amount of track time for the entrants is huge, everyone leaves with a prize of some sort donated by various people from competitors to sponsors and by the organiser Drift School WA who’s founder, Ken Leong said he started the event to bring drifting to Perth the way it should be, fun.

The latest event which was another sell-out was received well by all the drivers who end the day playing a game of rock paper scissors.

When asked how well the thought the event went Ken a many of many words simply replied “Extremely”.
