Formula Vee initially started out as a learning class of motor racing, however as it grew it established itself as a popular form of racing world-wide with the close racing and emphasis on driver skill due to modifications on the cars being limited.

Formula Vee’s start up costs range from $5,000 to $10,000 for a secondhand 1200 cc car, $20,000 for a secondhand 1600cc car or a brand new 1600 can cost up to $55,000.

Notable competitors in Formula Vee over the years include current and previous Australian motorsport competitors Cameron Waters, Jack LeBrocq, Cameron McConville, Larry Perkins, Jason Bargwanna, Colin Bond and John Bowe. Internationally, Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi and Keke Rosberg, all Formula 1 champions, have raced Formula Vees in Europe or America.

Saloon Cars brings back the classic Holden vs Ford racing at an affordable level with entry level cars starting around the $15,000 mark.

The 6 cylinder sedans use mostly factory or off the shelf control components resulting in an affordable and reliable motorsport that competitors with limited mechanical knowledge can build and maintain in their home garage with basic tools.

The category generally runs in two classes with the older cars in the Pro Am class, with newer cars in Pro.

Saloon Cars have have supported some of the most high profile races in Australia including the Clipsal 500, Bathurst 12 hour, Indy 300, Queensland 500, the Island 300 and were a core part of the Shannons Nationals.
