Aussie Racing Cars, the motorcycle powered silhouette racing cars category has announced it will be holding a seven round series in 2024 as a support category for both the Repco Supercars Championship and the Australian Superbike Championship

Aussie Racing Cars, the motorcycle powered silhouette racing cars has announced it will be holding a seven round series in 2024 as a support category for both the Repco Supercars Championship and the Australian Superbike Championship.

Aussie Racing Cars has mainly featured as part of the Shannons Speedseries / Championships over the past few years and maintains some strong fields each outing although in its 20 year history has supported events such as the Adelaide 500, Indy 500 Gold Coast, F1 Australian Grand Prix and the Bathurst 1000.

Being a silhouette racing class means that the cars look familiar with body shells resembling Mercedes-Benz, Holden Cruze, Camaro, Mustangs and more. The engines are from Yamaha FJR1300 motorcycles and combined with the lightweight 500kg car produce a power to weight ratio that is capable of the cars reaching 200km/h.
