The FIA / Motorsport Australia Girls on Track program returns to Perth in 2023 and will be appearing alongside trackside activity for the first time in its Western Australian history.
Aimed at girls 8 – 22 the program gives a unique insight into the motorsport world and presents options for girls to enter Motorsport as not just a driver.
The program is split into two seperate “tracks”.
The first are the Inspire events. These events are targeted at girls aged 8 – 15 years old, are free to attend and mainly attended by school groups, however individuals are welcome to register.
The goal of these events is to inspire and encourage an interest in STEM subjects and industries amongst schoolgirls, with the aim of increasing female participation in these sectors. Motorsport activities and workshops are used as a tool to expose the girls to the various career pathways in the sport.
The second is Pathways. These events are aimed at women aged 15 – 22 years old who are interested in more of a deeper dive into motorsport and the various pathways in. These events are also attended by women who are currently working in motorsport and gives an opportunity for networking for the participants.
Some of the FIA Girls on Track Australia ambassadors include Emily Duggan, Emma Notarfrancesco, Jessica Dane, Jessica Nicholson, Kate Peck, Krystina Emmanouilides, Molly Taylor, Nadine Armstrong, Romy Mayer and Shannen Kiely.
At the state level, the FIA Girls on Track program include Champions with Danielle Kneafsey, Telea Plummer, Laura Byrnes and Tayla Dicker who each provide a local contact for the participants to talk with once the events are over.
