It seems just yesterday that the dust settled from the finale of the WA Sporting Car Club’s 2022 season at CARCO.com.au Raceway and the club is getting ready to ring in the new season with a season launch event on Saturday 4th February.
The launch event sees two free practice sessions, drift practice, drift experiences, prizes and BBQ for members.
Moving into the season, the big news of the year is the Excel Cup Nationals that will be coming to Perth for the final round. Out on track for 2023 in addition to WA Excel Cup competitors will be the HQ Holdens, Production Cars, Improved Production Cars, Street Cars, Saloon Cars, Historic Touring Cars, Free Formula, Formula Ford, Sports Sedans, Trans Am, FSR and the grass roots Time Challenge event which allows those who want to dabble in motorsport the chance to experience a race meet.
Many of the 2022 category championships were close with just a handful of points separating many of the top podium getters and we’re looking forward to seeing how that plays out this year.
The WA Sporting Car Club will also be running the Tarmac Sportz Series on various dates featuring Time Attack, Time Challenge, Point2Point, Hill Climb and Driftkhana.
DriftWest also returns for 2023 with 8 practice events and the two Driftkhana events run under Tarmac Sportz Series.
The WA Sporting Car Club 2023 Season will be contested over 7 rounds and 11 days at CARCO.com.au Raceway.
