“Oh! Wait! This is drifting?!”
That was heard by a few in the crowd who perhaps previously thought that drifting was all about putting out huge amounts of smoke and popping tyres – for the record that’s what burnouts are.
Three of the Driftwest drift club turned it up for the spectators and competitors at the WA Sporting Car Club September meet with a drift display. Jamie Worroll, Luke Veersma and Jamie Mc Gloin took to the infield with single runs followed up by double and then triple runs so close they could’ve handed off a cold beverage (non alcoholic of course), to each other without stretching too far.
It was great to see this bit of entertainment happening during the lunch break and the joining of the grip and non grip racing communities.
