This was Round 2 for the excel championship. Due to some covid delays the Renault wasn’t ready an as Alex wanted to sit out of the Collie race for some family time. I didn’t want to waste a entry or accommodation so put my name in the hat.
I was hesitant in going to Collie as I’ve written off a car there in the wet and to be honest am not that confident in the wet – weird for a Kiwi I know but thanks to the support of some great mates and a great category gave it a go. Was stoked to stay in the top ten qualifying 7th and taking 8th over all for the day. Was in 6th in the last race before a spin cost me a couple of spots.
To be honest I’m still learning a ton every time I drive the Excel, really grateful for Paul and Damo’s work getting the car ready for me to take and Chris’s help over the weekend, shout out to Grant ย from Race Torque for the on going tutoring and off course Shane and DJ from Behind the Sport for ย the laughs.
