A small video with some in car from the weekends racing at Collie Motorplex in the Excel Cup Car.
This was Round 2 for the excel championship. Due to some covid delays the Renault wasn’t ready an as Alex wanted to sit out of the Collie race for some family time. I didn’t want to waste a entry or accommodation so put my name in the hat.
I was hesitant in going to Collie as I’ve written off a car there in the wet and to be honest am not that confident in the wet – weird for a Kiwi I know but thanks to the support of some great mates and a great category gave it a go. Was stoked to stay in the top ten qualifying 7th and taking 8th over all for the day. Was in 6th in the last race before a spin cost me a couple of spots.
To be honest I’m still learning a ton every time I drive the Excel, really grateful for Paul and Damo’s work getting the car ready for me to take and Chris’s help over the weekend, shout out to Grant from Race Torque for the on going tutoring and off course Shane and DJ from Behind the Sport for the laughs.
