SUPERCARS: Shane van Gisbergen Gets the Triple Winner Feeling in Tasmania

Van Gisbergen returned to his dominating racing form with a clean sweep of the Tasmanian SuperSprint over the weekend.

“It’s been an awesome weekend. Our pace wasn’t up to scratch in qualifying yesterday, and even though I’ve never been the best qualifier, Andrew (Edwards, race engineer) had some ideas which we tried today, and my car turned out to be awesome in both qualifying sessions.”

“In the races, we had to do it the hard way to get into the lead, but the braking on my car was really good, and I was able to get some really cool passes under brakes. I couldn’t be happier walking away with two wins today. Although it was the perfect weekend points-wise, we always have things we need to improve on and there’s always things to get better at.”

“Our procedures and management of qualifying could have been better over the weekend, and there’s a few more things we can look at before the Australian Grand Prix (AGP). The AGP has always been dominated by the Shell cars, and they’re going to be tough to beat, but that track is going to be epic to race at – I can’t wait.”
