SUPERCARS: Feeney Scores Maiden Podium

After a rough and tumble introduction to the Supercars main game, Broc Feeney has gone on to score his maiden podium at the Tasmanian SuperSprint.

“Our first qualifying session this morning was really good. I got myself in a good position and managed to score P2 behind SVG (Shane van Gisbergen). Everything felt really solid after that qualifying session and it was great for the team to get a one-two – one position up from yesterday.”

“Heading into the next qualifying session, I felt confident, but then on my green run, SVG & (Tim) Slade came together, and that session was red-flagged, which was unfortunate for us and put us back a few rows from where we should’ve been. I got a good start in the first race today and was leading the race for the first couple of laps. I had a little bit of a margin in front of Shane (van Gisbergen), but then the race was red-flagged, and we had to reset and go again.”

“I was battling with Shane for a bit of the race, and finished P2. Getting my first podium was a great feeling. I thought we might have had a chance at scoring a podium this weekend because our cars were so good. It’s a cool feeling to share that podium which such a great bunch of people who have helped me over my Supercars journey. In the last race, my starting position wasn’t great which made it hard right from the start. I was racing in the pack and managed to finish P8.”

“Overall, it was a shame not to finish the first race on a high, but I’ve just got to look at the positives from the weekend and improve at the Australian Grand Prix.”
