19 year old Broc Feeney has put to bed any doubts about him taking over Jamie Whincup’s position at Red Bull Ampol Racing by slotting his #88 Holden Commodore into 10th position during qualifying.
Meanwhile up the front Anton De Pasquale defeated Shane van Gisbergen to gain the first ARMOR ALL Pole Position of 2022 season. The two who shared nine wins at Sydney last year will be out front for the first race.
“It’s always a good place to start the first race of the year,” De Pasquale said.
“The guys have delivered me an awesome car, so we’ll see how we go.”
“That was one of the best laps I’ve ever done here,” van Gisbergen.
“It’s still that annoying two tenths, but I’m stoked about it.”
Tim Slade managed to improve 5 spots from his qualifying result in the shootout and finished up 3rd with Andre Heimgartner beside him.
