Bit of an update on the little Excel Cup car we picked up at the end of last year. We have done a few small jobs over the off season namely the new control coil overs as well as work to reinforce the front LCA mount points (see earlier video) we also did a heap of maintenance, tidy up work, modifying the exhaust and baffling the sump.
We are taking the car out this weekend for the State Speed Event Series at The Collie Motorplex as a shake down before Alex drives it next weekend for the WA Excel Cup season opener at Wanneroo Raceway. New thing this year in the State Speed Event series is an Excel Sub Category that Wes and the boys at Motech Mechanical in Bunbury have put on so big shout out to them and the SES guys.
The main aim for the Excel this season is the same as our other Excels, give someone a chance to race and to compete in the WA Excel enduro (the only enduro in WA so my favourite race of the year).
We are back sponsoring the WA Excel Cup Race Category again this year upping the ante from a voucher for breaking the lap record to a voucher for the fastest qualifier at every race meeting, as well as our normal club Discount so to say I’m looking forward to round 1 is an under statement.
