GRASSROOTS: 13 Events in Tarmac Sportz Series for 2022

The WA Sporting Car Club will be running 13 events as part of the Tarmac Sportz Series for 2022 which is aimed at getting potential motorsport participants out on track at a value price. So what are the events and what is required to enter?

The WA Sporting Car Club will be running 13 events as part of the Tarmac Sportz Series for 2022 which is aimed at getting potential motorsport participants out on track at a value price. So what are the events and what is required to enter?

There are four main event styles for the Tarmac Sportz Series. There’s Time Attack, Time Challenge, Point 2 Point and Hill Climb.

WHAT DO THEY ALL MEAN?

Time Attack – This is all about setting the fastest time out on the main track.Time Challenge – Also known as regularity, this is about being consistent and setting consistent lap times.Point 2 Point – Start at point A, finish at point B and get the best time to win.Hill Climb – Start at the bottom of Jack’s Hill and get to the top in the fastest time.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Outside of the cost of the car, tyres, fuel, oil etc, the costs to enter these events are $150.00 if you are a WA Sporting Car Club member, or $190 if you are not.

You will also need to have a Motorsport Australia License and be a current member of an affiliated Motorsport Australia club.

WHAT ARE MY REQUIREMENTS?

A helmet. Enclosed footwear and fire-resistant clothing that covers from wrist, to neck, to ankle. Check out the Motorsport Australia Manual Schedule D for information.

WHAT ARE MY VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS?

Blue triangle marking the battery, fire extinguisher mounted properly, brakes and tyres in good condition, vehicle mechanically sound (no-one wants to be “that person” who gets the track shut down for cleaning oil) and tow points marked with a red sticker is always recommended.

WHEN ARE THE EVENTS?

The events run as stand alone events and alongside the WA Sporting Car Club championship rounds.
