We love motorsport and we love it when you can take your daily drive to motorsport events because that equates to cheap motorsport!
In every state there are many events for you to bring your daily drive along to and enter. Some more exciting than others.
Here’s our pick, in no particular order, of the Top 4 daily drive motorsport events in Western Australia
Shannons Targa Rallysprint Series
Held at the Perth Motorplex with one round held in Bunbury south of Perth, the Shannons Targa Rallysprint Series held on a Thursday night allows you to run any car fitted with standard brakes, tyres, seat belts and fire extinguisher as a minimum.
As for driver attire, helmets, neck to wrist to ankle non flammable clothing and fully enclosed shoes is the minimum with frontal head restraits and driving suits recommended.
Co-drivers are permitted and probably recommended to navigate the tricky course.

State Speed Event Series
Held at various places throughout Western Australia, the State Speed Event Series has similar entry requirements to the Targa Rallysprint Series, in fact most of these events do, from hill climbs, point to points and sprints the event allows all skill levels to compete and progress in a minimally competitive environment.

Whoop Ass Wednesdays
Wednesday night is the “run what ya brung” night at Perth Motorplex. Bring your motorbike or road registered car and send it down the 1/4 mile strip, race against your mates, take passengers and try to beat your own PB.
Many of the WA Drag Season competitors use Wednesday nights to tune their entries so you’re guaranteed to see some wicked drag racing, and be pitted against them too.

Tarmac Sportz Series
The Tarmac Sportz Series is the newcomer to the block with 14 events being held in 2021 over four disciplines – circuit sprints, time challenge, hill climb and point to point.
While the other events are all stand alone events, some of the Tarmac Sportz Series events are being held in conjunction with monthly circuit racing events to give competitors a feel of what competing at a state race meet is like.
Make sure you’ve got your Motorsport Australia speed license, a helmet and a vehicle that meets safety requirements and you’re set!
