The FIA Girls on Track initiative is to visit the next round of the Shannons’ Motorsport Australia Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park on April 30 – May 2nd 2021.
The global, not-for-profit initiative is the brainchild of former Formula 1 development driver Susie Wolff and made its way down under in 2018 originally known as the Dare to be Different program it was rebranded to FIA Girls on Track in 2020.
The current program ambassadors are Emily Duggan, Emma Notarfrancesco, Jessica Dane, Jessica Nicholson, Jessica Yates, Kate Peck, Molly Taylor, Romy Mayer and Shannen Kiely.
Registrations for the free Girls On Track event are now open to the general public with the program to take place alongside the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships at Sydney Motorsport Park next weekend.
Scheduled to run on Saturday 1 May, the event will see participants complete a number of fun and engaging activities, introducing them to different avenues of motorsport, including engineering, driving and even media.
Next weekend’s event at Sydney will be the second event of the year after the first one took place last month as part of the Shannons International Women’s Day Festival in Broadford, which celebrated International Women’s Day.
The event is free for all participants, with the only requirement being the girls needing to bring their own lunches and snacks.
