Rubber melting temperatures greeted the early stages of the WA Nitro Championships at Perth Motorplex with the ambient air topping 37 degrees and the track heating up to above 50 degrees at the height of temperature readings.

Jodi Thorstenson who is on her second event back since her wreck last year was sitting on top of the Super Sedan charts with a ET of 8.922 top speed 246.03.  

Spare a thought for all the officials standing out on the strip today with no shade readily available they’ll be hitting up the hydration stations hard
