Red Shamrock Racing’s Laura Byrnes finished 13th at the Perth Motorplex City of Kwinana Cup during the Late Model feature race.
After finishing 8th and 9th in the heat races, Laura was looking forward to another top 10 finish but an early incident with the #82 car of Matt Amato meant she was driving without breaks for the majority of the feature race.
Byrnes made the decision to keep the car out on the track instead of retiring it and continued to muscle the car around the 1/2km Kwinana circuit with only the sound of her engine dipping and rising as any indication that something could have been wrong with the car.
On a post after the race, Laura thanked all her supporters for coming down to say hello and show support for her.
Laura was next scheduled to be on track during mid-week practice and again on the 6th February at the Krikke Boys Shootout however at this stage with the developing COVID-19 lockdown in Perth, time will tell when we will see her back in action with the rest of the Late Model field.
